A brave theatre company has decided now is just the time to launch such a production on the West End stage.

Imagine This, about a group of amateur actors who put on a show in the Warsaw ghetto to keep their spirits up, opens at the New London Theatre on November 19 following previews from November 4.

Director Tim Sheader said he hoped Imagine This would follow in the footsteps of Les Misérables.

He promised that audiences would not emerge from the musical depressed, but enthused. (suite ici)

NEW YORK (AP) — New York City police are investigating a rabbi's complaint that he received a thousand threatening e-mails over the slaughter of chickens before a Jewish holy day.

Rabbi Shea Hecht of the National Committee for Furtherance of Jewish Education says the e-mails were sent by supporters of a People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals campaign opposing the ritual. Police said Tuesday some people added threatening and anti-Semitic comments to an online PETA form letter. (suite ici)

Un juif, quoi qu’il fasse comme abomination, ne perd jamais son statut de juif. Même s’il se « convertit » à une autre religion ou croyance, il reste juif à tous égards.

Il est vrai que n'importe quel non juif peut se convertir et entrer dans cette mission, le contraire n'étant pas possible – une fois juif, on le reste ad vital aeternam.

Ces deux petites citations sont extraites du site Leava. Deux textes, deux citations... Cet enfermement dans la Judéïté reviens comme un leitmotiv. Je n'ai pas le courage pour l'instant de tout éplucher, mais je met ma main a couper que on trouve la même idée encore et encore dans ce site.

ceci semble confirmer la très fine intuition de Ryssen, pour qui le Judaïsme est un enfermement.
